Description
The Region Product Manager (RPM) is responsible for all of the company’s dealer and national rental account support activity within a multi-state or multi-province assigned territory. The ideal candidate is a confident, self-starting, sales and product professional who thrives on new challenges and the opportunity to develop sales and construction equipment sales professional. Critical to the position is to work with dealer sales teams and their customers to demonstrate, promote, and support the Takeuchi compact equipment product line. The position will also work cross-functionally to complete new product roadmaps and discover new opportunities within the construction equipment market segment. A clear understanding of the construction equipment dealer’s role in product promotion, sales, product support, and customer relations is paramount to success in this position. This position reports to the Division Sales Manager. The RPM will provide weekly reports on products, competition, and sales activity on a timely basis.
Essential Functions
Professional product sales executive responsible for sales development and market share growth within the region. Must be able to communicate in a professional and effective manner with dealer sales professionasl, dealer management, direct/national accounts, and our North American and Japanese Headquarters to ensure region product objectives are met while providing exceptional support. Developing long-term relationships with sales professionals and customers alike will be essential.
- The RPM will be expected to call on dealers, national rental accounts, and retail customers, presenting Takeuchi in a professional customer- driven manner.
- The RPM will train the regional salesforce on product features, benefits, applications, and how to successfully demonstrate Takeuchi construction equipment. This includes the operation of attachments and educating dealers/customers on safe operating practices. Will also work jointly with our Product & Training departments to provide superior dealer sales schools and customer events periodically at our national training center.
- Must be able to handle conflict resolution with dealers/customers within the region, carry out company strategies as directed, and achieve regional sales goals. Other duties may be required as assigned.
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Fundamental understanding of construction equipment and operation. Technical background in diesel, electrical, and hydraulics is a plus.
- Four-year college degree preferred or equivalent position experience.
- General proficiency in computers. Working understanding and use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Exceptional written and verbal communication. Preferred bi-lingual in both English and French.
- Related experience or interest in the construction equipment field or experience with business travel, dealers and retail sales professionals and machine safety equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License and the ability / desire to travel weekly, road warrior. 80% Travel
- Resident of Canada, preferred residence within the province of Ontario. Valid Canadian passport.
- Preferred bi-lingual fluent in English and French.
- Extremely driven and goal oriented. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize opportunities and get results.
- This is a 1099 position, offering greater independence and flexibility in scheduling.
