Responsibilities
Provide departmental support and lead the staff in the Household Goods department.
- Coordinate and lead activities on a daily basis under the direction of Household Goods management
- Lead the Household goods staff by providing instructions and assistance
- With the guidance of the Supervisor, conduct general staff training
- Ensure staff is compliant with company policies and safety policies
- Prepare appropriate documentation needed for the move of customer’s household goods
- Lead the packing, removing and loading of customer’s goods
- Effective communication by email or phone in Japanese and/ or English with associates and the customers
- Interact with customers and outside moving subcontractors
- Assist in inventory control
- Participate in implementing work schedules and ensuring that jobs are assigned effectively
- Discuss and resolve issues and report to management
- Complete all necessary reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Handle other job assignments as determined by the direct Supervisor
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the moving industry
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, write & speak English and Japanese fluently
- Ability to clearly communicate directions to the household goods team in a professional manner
- Ability to work overtime to meet the customer needs
- Strong customer service skills
- Good computer skills- Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant or appropriate working experience
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, twist, reach, lift, push, pull, carry heavy objects in a warehouse setting.
Organization Relationships:
Will work with all levels in the organization as well as Customers and subcontractors
