Who we are:

Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was originally a small co-op organization for centralized purchasing of basic import foods to service the needs of the early Japanese immigrant society in Southern California. We’ve grown nearly 100 years old now, and command a premiere position among Japanese foodservice suppliers, as well as fill a key role as “Culinary Ambassador” promoting Japanese foods worldwide. Currently, we import, manufacture, and distribute over 8,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.

Location: Norcross, GA

Hours: Mon – Thu: 12:00PM – 9:00PM; Sun: 2PM – 11PM 1hr. lunch.

Essential Job Functions
• Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements; supervising warehouse employees that leads to improved employee productivities and efficiency
• Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory counting, maintenance or any paperwork as needed with related departments
• Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items
• Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements
• Works with related departments to maintain or develop food safety program (GMP, HACCP)
• Adheres to all handling, shipping, and legislation requirements and comply with all safety, security, and health regulations
• Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
• Familiar with logistics and DOT regulations. Communicates with trucking company for any kinds of emergencies or truck repairment and maintenance issues.
• Participates in weekly warehouse meetings
• Attends semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend
• Attends Company events and functions outside of normal working hours
• Other duties as required by manager
• Obligation to answer to all management as requested
• Responsible for day-to-day coordination of truck drivers, delivery routes and loading

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to handle and move 50+ pounds assisted frequently
• Ability to sit in a car for extended periods of time
• Working Conditions

o Noise Level: Loud while indoors

o Required to wear insulated freezer suit while in freezer

o Freezing temperatures between -10 and -28 degrees Fahrenheit

Other Requirements
• Business level English – Read/write/speak/listen
• Communication level Japanese
• To have and maintain a clean driving record
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as needed
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
• College Diploma required
• 3-5 years of warehouse experiences required
• 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills
• Basic mathematical knowledge – combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, weight, etc.
• Communications and Interpersonal skills
• Exceptional organization and time management skills
• Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills
• Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes preferred
