Sony Honda Mobility of America, situated in Culver City, California, was established in March 2023, where our dedicated team is working on introducing the electric vehicle, AFEELA, to the market. Position Summary

Are you a highly capable IT professional fluent in both English and Japanese? Sony Honda Mobility of America is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide exceptional technical assistance to our staff in Culver City and remote sites. This role involves delivering top-notch support services, advising on IT equipment upgrades, and handling ad hoc IT requests. You will also have the opportunity to travel to our satellite business units as needed. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for technology, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

  • Consult with IT managers and other departments on new projects and IT requests.
  • Provide exceptional IT support to staff both onsite and remote.
  • Train end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
  • Troubleshoot and set up both PCs and Mac operating systems and HP and Mac hardware.
  • Install and troubleshoot Office 365 suite of products.
  • Engage in the new hire process for new employees.
  • Update computer software as well as upgrade hardware and systems.
  • Troubleshoot audio-visual systems in conference rooms.
  • Document all new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT teams in Japan on new projects and initiatives.
  • Keep track of technological advancements and trends in IT support.

Qualifications for Position

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience as an IT support specialist in a Windows 10/11 desktop and Mac environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to provide technical support and resolve technical issues in a timely fashion.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users.
  • Experience in documenting new and existing processes in an IT department.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 application support and backend infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of audio-video systems in conference rooms.
  • Must be fluent in English and Japanese.

Preferred

  • Hardware and/or software certification.
  • Program certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, or others.
  • Scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar solutions.
  • Understanding of password manager vault solutions.
  • CATO VPN client troubleshooting.

Additional Details

  • Travel Requirements: Some travel is required to satellite business units, primarily local.
  • Work Arrangements: Flexible work options available.
  • Schedule: Standard work hours with occasional need for evening or weekend support when critical tech issues arise that impact business.
  • On-Call Availability: Additionally, there will be an on-call rotation to ensure continuous support.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $80,000-$100,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
