Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

General Job Duties:

Specific Job Duties:

  • To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.
  • Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.
  • Immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.
  • Complete all required safety-related inspections.
  • Do not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.
  • Ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely.
  • Responsible to the Purchasing Manager for the procurement of supplies and/or equipment for all departments as well as develop, investigate and make recommendations regarding new sources of supplies
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, as well as negotiate prices, services, and quality
  • Act as an effective liaison between all departments regarding possible alternatives offered by the suppliers, modification of designs, standardization of parts or material as well as other matters of mutual concern
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining product/vendor information as well as the ability to work with the ERP system in an effective capacity
  • Assist departments in defining there purchasing needs and resolving associated problems
  • Responsible for acting as a back-up support in the absence of the Purchasing Manager
  • To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required. An Associate’s Degree along with diversified procurement and negotiation experience will be accepted in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.

Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years buying experience in an automotive environment
  • Requires experience in diversified procurement and negotiation skills associated with various components and materials
  • Fluency in English mandatory, ability to speak German, Japanese or Korean is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, as required accomplishing the job.
