Located about 190 miles south east of San Francisco, Fresno is a city in California’s San Joaquin Valley. - Third Shift: 12:00am – 8:30am
Compensation:
Pactiv Evergreen is required by laws in many locations to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Pactiv Evergreen, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $62,000 – $72,000/year.
The Production Supervisor facilitates the development of high performance teams within the plants and ensures the team’s execution of standard work and compliance with our base systems for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. The PSL creates a culture of engagement within and between the teams to directly impact and consistently meet plant objectives and deliverables. This position ensures that high performance teams work collaboratively in the decision making processes and that the decisions are in alignment with plant goals and objectives, OSHA requirements and current Human Resources (HR) guidelines. People engagement and involvement are critical in creating and sustaining a high performance team culture; therefore the Shift Leader will be responsible for leading by example and foster the development of individuals.
The position reports to the Unit Manager and will work with closely with the production leaders.
Responsibilities
- Manage, direct and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
- Typically supervises 40-65 employees. Coordinate with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring & training employees; planning, assigning & directing work; appraising performance; rewarding & disciplining employees; addressing complaints & resolving problems
- Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis. Support & improve upon Quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals. Ensures safety programs are implemented effectively, reviewed regularly and revised as necessary.
- Coordinate with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved

- SAP – Purchasing & Inventory Control
- Maintenance Connection CMMS System
- Microsoft Office Tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma required, BA/BS preferred (business, engineering) with 2+ years of manufacturing experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work well in group situations
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict in mature & consistent manner
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Data based Problem Solving experience using tools such as A3’s, Fishbone Diagrams, Cause and Effect and Pareto Graphs
- Good computer skills
- SAP experience preferred
- GMP Responsibilities:
- All associates are responsible to comply with operational methods, personnel practices and all communicated requirements to ensure a safe and productive work environment and overall product safety.
- Execute said duties to maintain compliance with stated product safety/GMP, legal, regulatory and quality systems requirement
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk for up 4 hours at a time and safely work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Work Conditions:
- Indoor industrial environment that may experience high temperatures and humidity during the summer months
- Hearing Protection is required when out on the production floor due to industrial machinery sound level
- Required to wear ASTM F2413-05 safety shoes (Steel or comparable safety shoes worn at all times)
- Required to wear Bump Cap, Hair or Beard Net, and other Safety gear as required
- Hair and or fascial hair grooming maintained to support food safety standards with the use of hair and/or beard nets
- Able to stand, bend, stoop or squat, bend or twist, climb stairs and ladders, walk, and constant use of both hands repeatedly for the duration of the shift
- Able to push or pull 30-50 lbs
- Occasional: sitting, stoop/squat, ladder/steps, climbing, bending/twist
- Frequent: kneel/crawl/bend, stair climbing, carrying 0-30 lbs., high, low outreaching, standing, walking
- Repeated use of: wrist/hand/fingers/shoulder/elbow/hips/ ankles/head/neck
