Job Description:
The Religion Department at Wittenberg University seeks to hire a full-time, visiting assistant professor beginning August 1, 2025. Wittenberg is committed to attracting and retaining highly qualified individuals who collectively reflect the diversity of our student body and society at-large. Teaching responsibilities include courses in Asian religious traditions (e.g., Chinese and Japanese Religious Traditions, Intro to Hinduism, Intro to Buddhism, and/or Mindfulness and Meditation). Ability to teach courses that contribute to one or more of Wittenberg’s interdisciplinary offerings in Health Science, Justice, Law, & Public Policy, or Women’s Studies is also desired. This is a one-year visiting position with the opportunity for renewal or conversion to a tenure-track line.
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in Religious Studies or Comparative Religions is required; candidates that are ABD working toward Ph.D. completion will be considered. Candidates must have a strong commitment and interest in teaching in the liberal arts and sciences context.
