About the location:
Sensei Lāna’i, A Four Seasons Resort offers a luxurious adults-only wellness enclave on the secluded Hawaiian island of Lāna’i. About the role

• To assist with day-to-day culture and observatory duties and to ensure work area is kept tidy and presentable to guests. Tasks which include but not limited to setting up cultural workshop, gathering necessary items for each workshop and breaking down at the end of the day. Greet and assist guests as needed.

What you will do

1. Support public engagement activities for the Lāna’i Observatory Telescope.

2. Work with a multi-disciplinary team including the Lāna’i Cultural Advisors, scientists, traditional ocean navigators and educators and guest speakers.

3. Assist with programming and planned events for focused on Astronomy and Ancient Hawaiian Voyaging for guests, community and students

4. Assist with staff training and development to operate the telescope.

5. Provide mentorship for internships and STEM programming.

6. Oversee general maintenance of the observatory building and equipment.

What you bring

We are looking for individuals who have a solid knowledge of the location, are hands on and have strong business acumen, good communication skills and are able to evidence professionalism and adaptability.

Skills: Organizational, motivational and leadership skills, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), ability to create, plan and manage activities effectively, strong business knowledge, analytical skills and interpersonal skills, and up-to-date knowledge of computer programs and applications, must be energetic, approachable, flexible and creative.
