Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled AI/ML Engineer with a strong background in developing industrial AI products and software solutions. In this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning to design, develop, and deploy robust algorithms tailored for industrial applications. Your work will be instrumental in transforming customer insights into actionable AI solutions that enhance product functionality, efficiency, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Industrial AI Products: Design and implement scalable AI models and software tools to address complex industrial challenges.
- Customer Insights Integration: Collaborate with product and research teams to gather and analyze customer feedback, transforming insights into innovative AI-driven features.
- Software Engineering: Build and maintain high-quality, production-level code, ensuring that AI models integrate seamlessly with existing industrial systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams including product management, R&D, and operations to align AI initiatives with business objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and ML technologies, applying best practices to improve product performance and operational efficiency
Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:
- Ph.D. / Masters/ bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Proficiency in machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- Knowledge of data preprocessing techniques and tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Project experience in machine learning or related fields
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Understanding of software development best practices, including version control and agile methodologies

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $125 – 140 K. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
