We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Strategic Development to join our International Strategic Development team in Poway, CA.

The International Strategic Development department requires a Regional Director to provide support to international campaigns and pursuits in Indo-Pacific. This role will involve travelling up to 75% of the time to Australia, Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan during some periods as campaigns ramp up or complete. As the international business segment grows, capture leads must remain focused on customers, budgets, geopolitical environment, resolution of issues and ultimately winning new business. This focus drives the need to provide better support to the customer with a dedicated lead able to get in country, IndoPACOM, or Washington DC as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with capture leads and RVPs to develop presentations, briefs, RFI responses, white papers, Export Approvals, and other materials to support international campaigns.
  • Provide technical and strategic input to support business case analysis for entry into new or expanded markets.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of a resource management center to store and provide access to critical information on campaigns in the Region such as presentations, briefs, performance data, white papers, Technical Assistance Agreements, RFIs, RFPs, and pricing.
  • Implement and maintain processes to ensure consistent and accurate technical, production, and forecast information.
  • Contribute to the review and update of strategic development-related company process documents for approval by the Regional VP Asia-Pacific.
  • Identify and implement additional tool sets to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist in managing and updating DSP-5 Marketing Licenses in coordination with ITC & Government Affairs, including the review of classified provisos.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations and government requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging customer requirements and company capability roadmaps to identify capabilities that can be introduced into export configurations as upgrades.
  • Stay informed about current and future technical trends to make recommendations for future capabilities.
  • Support and, where necessary, execute customer demonstrations.
  • Participate in customer meetings, VIP visits, conferences, and events to provide technical sales support and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Develop customer-specific marketing animations based on CONOPs for use in capture efforts, trade shows, and social media campaigns.
  • Coordinate the development of CONOPs and fleet sizing studies, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors or Masters in business administration or a related field and fifteen or more years of progressively complex experience in business development with at least nine years managing international business development activities. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • An advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Engineering, or related field) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Australia, Southeast Asian, Korean and Japanese defense acquisition policies and procedures highly desired.
  • Proven track record of supporting high-performing teams in a complex, global environment.
  • Strong technical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and present compelling business cases and analyses.
  • Relevant certifications in project management, business development, or international trade (e.g., PMP, Certified International Trade Professional) are advantageous.
  • Continuous professional development and training in technical sales, strategic planning, and international business.
  • This position requires an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
