Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Compensation Analyst in our Total Rewards Center of Excellence within the HR team.

The Compensation Analyst role supports the development, implementation and administration of various global compensation programs, policies and processes, including but not limited to base pay administration, market pricing, survey participation, and year-end compensation cycle to support our ongoing alignment with our pay-for-performance philosophy. This position will report to the Global Compensation Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintaining and enhancing our internal Compensation structure including maintaining job profiles, job grading, and solidifying a more formalized pay range and job progression structure.
  • Supporting both our short-term and long-term Incentive plan philosophy and incentive plans.
  • Participating in salary surveys and maintain our global benchmarking library to stay current on our company’s competitive position in the market and provide ad-hoc data and compensation analysis as needed.
  • Partnering with HR Business partners to provide compensation benchmarking and consultation and to develop a deep understanding of job profiles and job responsibilities.
  • Assisting in the company’s year-end compensation process to include:
    • Updates and enhancements to our on-line Compensation Planning Tool
    • Training for all compensation planners and HR Business Partners
    • Drafting of all year-end related communication to ensure stakeholders fully understands the process & timelines.
    • Analyzing and updating all final recommendations for review and approval by the CEO.
  • Developing techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
  • Ensuring compliance with global compensation laws and regulations while staying up to date with current and upcoming competitive market trends in our industry.
  • Annual Reporting including UK Gender Pay Gap.
  • Providing guidance on which roles are subject to FLSA exemptions.
  • Liaising with Finance and Payroll on Japanese inpatriate pay administration.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field and 3-5 years of experience in employee compensation.
  • Strong analytical & collaboration skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use sound judgement and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Highly organized, with strong ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and focus on priorities with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience using Workday’s Advanced Compensation functionality and/or Payfactors Compensation Management tool a plus.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
