Team Description:
The Global Operations Liaison for the Americas (GOLA) Team provides guidance on Tokyo Head Office (Tokyo HO) Framework and Initiatives. Our team’s major role is to work as a liaison of Tokyo HO and support various operations related initiatives in the Americas region. Americas includes not only US but offices in Canada, Brazil and Mexico. Our team also handles various reporting to Tokyo HO.
Job Summary:
The candidate will work in the department which is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring various initiatives and projects independently and/or co-working with business partners (Operations, GCIB/JCIB front, and others) to enhance operations & system management framework and improve operations efficiency / accuracy.
The candidate shall be accountable for initiatives/project management/promotion role and regular various reporting tasks to Tokyo HO or Senior Management. Other administrative responsibilities may also be required. We are looking for candidates who have experience in the corporate planning functions and have a solid sense of responsibility to complete assigned tasks under time constraint and pressure. The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities of products and processes in operations and require input on more complex issues as well. This position may require some overtime work due to time difference between US and Japan, and cross-department collaboration with all areas of the bank across the region and globally.
Major Responsibilities:
- Execute various reporting tasks to Management, Regional Offices (Canada, Mexico and Brazil) or Tokyo HO.
- Lead or assist the initiatives/projects and form strong partnership with adjacent functions such as Tokyo HO, Front teams (GCIB/JCIB), and other teams to align with HO’s directions/policies as well as to improve America’s efficiency / accuracy.
- Report status to stakeholders on initiatives/project progress and escalate related issues and risks – Project planning, resource estimation, creation of work break-down structure and scheduling of business-related tasks.
- Update executive level reports and presentations for complex initiatives/projects.
- Work closely with other team members and leaders to plan, define, and manage priorities to achieve the goals.
- Perform additional duties related to the position as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- More than 1.5 years of experience in the financial industry.
- Strong Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Power Automate/Power BI Desktop/Visio/Outlook) skill.
- Proven history of working experience with a diverse working environment.
- Ability to proactively take the initiative to work efficiently and effectively on team-oriented projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including listening, verbal and written skills for well-organized coordination and socialization across multiple stakeholders.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to perform effectively and work independently.
- Proficiency in Japanese is plus.
Education
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, risk management, business analytics, technology or equivalent.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $85K to $100K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
