How you will create an impact:
- Manages client-facing projects and supports acquisition initiatives. The focus lies on project management in collaboration with internal and clients’ project teams. Reports to (senior) director/(senior) partner in charge. Depending on your experience, scope/number of work streams may vary, and project delivery may get more complex. Your contribution to project delivery and business acquisition:
- Manages projects with expert functional knowledge in Simon-Kucher’s business fields (i.e. strategy, pricing, marketing, sales). Demonstrates solid knowledge of a specific market/industry and effectively applies it to projects
- Manages/supports all phases of a project (data gathering and research, data analysis and recommendation development). Oversees data analysis, data modeling and controls results. Plays a leading role in concept creation from derivation of hypotheses to design of strategy
- Manages responsibilities and performance of the internal project team. Coach and develop consultants on staffed projects
- Provides exceptional customer service for client’s lower/middle management. Communicates frequently and transparently with the team
- Supports proposal creation with senior guidance
- Your contribution to other aspects of the business:
- Recruiting: Conducts interviews of intern, consultant, and manager positions. May participate in and represents Simon-Kucher at recruiting events
- Coaching and mentorship: Participates in the Career Development Adviser program and provides guidance to advisees. May act as internal trainer for Simon-Kucher specific training needs.
- Other: May contribute to various other company related matters such as marketing, ESG, DE&I initiatives or office events
Your profile:
- Has an undergraduate and/or graduate degree from an accredited university/college, preferably in the following fields: business, medical, science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- Speaks fluent Japanese and English
- 4+ years of full-time work experience in management consulting and/or the healthcare and life sciences industry. Experience in the following is preferred:
- Industry: pharmaceuticals & biotech, medical technology, diagnostics, digital health & healthcare IT
- Expertise: commercial strategy, new product planning, pricing, marketing, sales
- Professional experience in analyzing and solving complex problems, which includes defining actionable recommendations using well-developed problem-solving skills (quantitative, conceptual, analytical)
- Solid understanding of commercial, cross-functional, marketing, pricing, and sales concepts paired with relevant work experience
- Record of accomplishment in managing multiple projects, including work plans and deliverables
- Strong collaboration and teaming skills
- Inclusive and empathetic team member; Has had some supervisor experience in mentoring and coaching others
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused attitude
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)

The pay range for this position is JPY 13m-25m (USD$85k-$164k). Compensation may vary depending on relevant experience, skills,geographic location, and business needs.
