Overview

As our Manager Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for leading Country Diversification through Alternate Country of Origin Sourcing. Utilizing knowledge and experience to guide Alt COO Team in the development of strategies to ensure stable vendor base capable of providing price, quality, and delivery to meet the customer’s expectations and the company’s goals.

Detailed Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions

  1. Build and maintain a Strategic Sourcing Matrix in support of Country Diversification
  2. Identify, validate, and lead onboarding and transition to Alt COO Vendors/Factories
  3. Closely monitor International Currency, Tariff and ADD fluctuations
  4. Control overall Cost; weighing all impacting factors (First Cost, Tariff, ADD)
  5. Lead, Develop and Train the Alt COO Sourcing Team
  6. Alt COO Vendor Management to achieve Quality, Delivery and Cost goals
  7. Utilize Sourcing and Production expertise to develop Alt COO team’s expertise to minimize Cost and optimize Quality
  8. Foster strong business relationships with key stakeholders; Merchants, Product Development, Inventory, Quality, Vendors and Makers
  9. Support the company’s supply chain to resolve product and performance issues
  10. Resolve Legal, Product Design and Customer issues
  11. Coordinate team efforts based on departmental strategies
  12. Maintain an active US Passport and travel overseas as necessary
  13. Abide by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
  14. Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  15. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice
  16. Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore sourcing, buying/merchandising in retail or manufacturing organization
