Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Market Research Manager to join our team. This role will focus on conducting and managing market research to support the deployment and market expansion of our inverter, heat pump, and other advanced environmental technologies in North America. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy technology markets and trends, and must be fluent in both English and Japanese to support collaboration with our global headquarters in Japan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and provide critical insights to support Daikin’s long-term business strategy and new business creation in North America, including inverter heat pumps, Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS), electric utility markets, data centers, and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Industry Trends Monitoring: Stay current with industry trends in energy, climate technology, and sustainability to ensure Daikin’s offerings align with evolving market needs.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Gather and analyze information on competitor products, market share, and potential threats or opportunities for Daikin’s technology solutions.
  • Reporting: Compile and present comprehensive research reports and executive summaries to Daikin headquarters and business units in the North America to support decision-making and strategy development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in market research, preferably within energy, HVAC, or environmental technology sectors.
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese and fluent English.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Knowledge of North American energy and environmental markets.
  • Proficient in data analysis and market research tools.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
