Job Description:

Position Summary:

This position will be part of the xEV Regional PE group for Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for activity and support for xEV Allocation for North America. The purpose for the position will be to support activities to establish equipment layouts, parts flow, warehousing, and quotations for programs related to xEV Products. Overall requirements of the position are plan, organize, and establish production allocation and xEV footprint, including interaction with Global Footprint. This position offers opportunities to work with a wide variety of aspects of the manufacturing processes, a wide variety of departments and levels of management within the company both domestic and international. Essential functions of this job include:

  • Provide Line and Plant Layouts for new Production Lines
  • Accommodate proper Parts Flow and Warehousing for new Production Lines
  • Work with Building Vendors for new Construction and Renovation
  • Assist other PE Engineers in setting up testing trials/experiments for customer/internal troubles, including countermeasure activity as needed.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities / % of Time Spent

  • Develop and evaluate new Plant Layouts for xEV products: 40%
  • Support new business opportunity evaluation and cost estimation: 30%
  • Support development of technology, resource and production requirements: 10%
  • Support M/P equipment problems and develop solutions: 5%
  • Other Duties as Assigned to support Corporate Objectives: 5%

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • 4 Year College Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties
  • Ability to make quick, accurate, data driven decisions and utilize excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in CAD software. (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have transportation to and from Local facility. (Not a remote position)

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Work experience within automotive industry, with emphasis in electro/mechanical devices
  • Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors
  • Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Fluency in Japanese language

Essential to Job Functions – Physical and/or Mental Restrictions:

  • Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting
  • Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday
  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen

Software:

  • Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience in CAD ware (AutoCAD, Inventor, or other)
  • Project Management Software preferred (MS Project)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to exercise good judgment, be highly motivated and work independently
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy
  • Maintains clean and orderly work environment
  • Interacts with various levels of associates in a professional manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and growth towards communicating to all levels within the organization
