- General Summary: Provide project leadership for the program team, to include planning and reporting new program activities. Lead project meetings and communicate to internal and external project members. Evaluate new equipment and tools needed for prototype processes. Create and maintain program and commodity KPI’s for pre-production milestones.
Essential Job Functions:
- Create, distribute, and maintain Program Prototype Detail Schedule. Track status and report out missed dates & issues. Escalate to management as needed for support with delayed and missing information for Prototype KPI’s.
- Create Program Prototype Detail Plan per project and commodity. Update file as needed with changes.
- Facilitate Judgement of Proceeding meetings to review project / commodity status. Collect open issues, distribute to project team, and monitor for closure.
- Facilitate receiving PE tools and equipment information regarding availability for CV. Verify supplier tools are ready to meet CV, and schedule meetings to discuss status of tools needed.
- Attend all program related meetings such as Obeya, Kobeya, Judgment of Proceeding, and Assignment of Duty.
- Pull and distribute ECI notifications to the team for active CV programs.
- Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Project Management or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:
- Entry to three (3) years of experience in production, prototype procurement, and/or manufacturing processes, preferably automotive interiors.
- Project cost management experience
Personal/Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of the manufacturing processes relating to plastics, metals, foam, and textiles.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, commissions, proportions, margins, and mark-up.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and understand engineering documents such as automotive drawings (component, assembly, and equipment), technical standards, and Engineering Change Instructions (ECI).
- Strong negotiation skills.

Language Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Japanese and/or Spanish a plus
Computer/Software:
- Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Excel including the ability to create mathematical, logical, and reference formulas in Excel including manipulating large amounts of data.
- Work Environment/Conditions:
- Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
- 10% of time spent on floor in plant environment
- Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time and is occasionally required to lift, move, and carry up to 30 pounds.
