We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to serve as technical lead to bridge existing materials engineers and component owners to expanding development projects with our external cell vendors.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for cell materials and mechanical components in development projects with our external cell suppliers
- Develop and execute test plans to validate and benchmark new materials, components and cell designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (cell design, program management, modeling, etc.) to lead materials from concept to product
- Identify and troubleshoot materials-related issues during production or testing phases, working with our suppliers to resolve problems in a timely manner
- Prepare technical reports and communicate key learnings to cross-functional internal teams, material suppliers and cell vendors
Requirements
- Background in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar
- Strong foundation in electrochemistry and materials science
- Experience in Li-ion cell design, cell manufacturing and/or failure analysis
- Exposure to working with Li-ion cell manufacturers is a plus
- Proficiency in Mandarin, Korean or Japanese is a plus
- Quarterly international travel to cell and material suppliers is expected

- Expected Compensation
$84,000 – $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
