The Technical Trainer will prepare training material and travel to end users, representatives, and dealer locations to train personnel on all levels of JVCKENWOOD products. In this role, you will also perform Technical Support Specialist related work when not preparing training material or training.

Summary:

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Technical Trainer will prepare and deliver training classes and presentations on Kenwood products and services to internal staff, end users, and the dealer channel. The Trainer will be responsible for working with Product Planning to create new classes, as well as updating and improving existing content. The Trainer will help in scheduling training sessions and provide input on expanding the training program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare virtual class material on all levels of Kenwood Land Mobile Radio products to be distributed online.
  2. Prepare in-person class material on all levels of Kenwood Land Mobile Radio products to be used in training sessions at end user, dealer and other locations nationally and internationally.
  3. Schedule travel times, make all reservations for tickets, hotels, rental vehicles and training facilities (when necessary). Includes arranging necessary equipment.
  1. Work closely with Technical Support, R&D, Marketing and Sales personnel on the direction of content creation.
  2. Translate new and existing material from English or Japanese to other languages.
  3. Promote the company within the industry.

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Experience in technical training for electronic or communications products.
  2. Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish preferred)
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  4. Ability to demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. 3 years providing training or support in a technology field related to the two-way radio or telecommunications industry.
  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  2. FCC GROL license.
  3. Demonstrable experience in the professional two-way radio industry.

Working Conditions:

Duties and responsibilities performed may include exposure to dirt, fumes and noise. Work may require a considerable amount of bending, stooping, squatting, and lifting of materials up to 70 pounds.

Moderate travel by air and automobile, including overnights and weekends.

In-office location: Irving, Texas. Hybrid applications are only acceptable with a higher level of experience and qualifications.

Working Relationships:

Reports to the Communications Technical Training Supervisor, daily interaction with dealer accounts, self-service end users, and the manufacturer’s sales representatives. Interacts moderately with repair depots, Sales, Order Desk, and Tuning personnel.

Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  1. Determine the level of training required at each seminar.
  2. Determine the best way to prepare all training material.
  3. Have the ability to work around travel obstacles.
  4. All problem-solving and decision-making abilities of a Technical Support Specialist.

Working Conditions:

Works in a general maintenance environment.

Maximum USD Salary: 80,000
