Job Purpose
We are currently seeking an entry level professional to join our team as Specialist, Continuous Improvement reporting to the HSE Manager. This position is responsible to drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is involved in planning, scheduling, and implementing continuous improvement activities on the production floor in the manufacturing facility, to include 5S and Gemba.
Principal Accountabilities
- Planning, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver training in classroom and production environment.
- Monitor and implement continuous improvement best practices.
- Develop and track continuous improvement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct new employee orientation training.
- Utilize learning management system (LMS) for all approved training course materials and training records.
- Support the implementation of 5S throughout the facility. Act as resource for all departments including reporting and building standards.
- Responsible for training of lean and 5S concepts and implementation of continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare and post visual aids in the facility and ensure communication boards are updated.
- Lead company Gemba program to include scheduling, documentation, charting, and reporting.
- Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis and provide support where needed.
- Participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis, document findings and suggest/implement solutions for preventative actions.
- Support company safety and health management system.
- Assist with site life safety systems such as fire suppression sprinkler systems.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the HSE Manager.
- Ability to work flexible schedule to provide training support for 24/7 facility.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical related discipline preferred
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in continuous improvement or safety in lieu of degree
Knowledge:
- Continuous Improvement
- Lean Six Sigma
- Kaizen
- Root Cause Analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of 5S program and ability to plan projects
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including advance skills with Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work in high pace and changing environments
Experience:
- Experience in Learning Management System (LMS) Admin is a plus
- Life Safety Code experience is a plus
- Must be able to work flexible schedules and will be required to work across shifts for conducting training/communication to personnel.

- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for continuous improvement
- Capable group speaker able to conduct training activities for group sizes of 2-50 employees
- Must maintain a professional demeanor with the ability to interact within all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated technical writing skills
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)
- The salary range for this position is $64,896 – $81,120. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
