Job Description:
This is a full-time position and represents an opportunity to expand on specialized experience and competence in regulatory affairs, as it relates to dōTERRA’s cosmetic, food, nutritional supplements, and essential oil products. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will write, coordinate, and complete the submission of regulatory documents for international notifications and registrations. In addition, this individual will conduct product labeling and advertising review and approvals and evaluate proposed product modifications for regulatory impact.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure regulatory compliance of all dōTERRA products across assigned markets
- Review product formulations for compliance
- Provide regulatory requirements and advice on claims for products
- Prepare product registration dossiers and notification documents and coordinate with authorities for successful product registration across multiple product types
- Monitor and respond to emails, maintain regulatory files and trackers and communicate the current status for completed and active products in the regulatory process
- Research regulatory issues and obtain or create essential documents to prepare and coordinate regulatory submissions and respond to compliance questions
- Draft, review and approve artwork in accordance with market requirements
- Research and communicate regulatory requirements for product specifications. Review and approve product specifications
- Understand current and monitor upcoming changes to the key regulations which govern doTERRA products in assigned markets as well maintain the associated files and reference documents
- Manage, file and organize work product and emails
- Communicate internationally with dōTERRA regulatory staff and consultants
- Other tasks as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related technical field preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, including strong organizational skills are essential
- Strong sense of urgency
- Proactive and continual improvement mindset
- Ability to multi-task multiple projects and track large amounts of dynamic data
- Proven ability to communicate in a multi-cultural environment especially while discussing complex, technical issues with non-scientific personnel
- Relevant computer knowledge and experience (Excel, Word, Outlook, Google spreadsheets)
- Fluent in both written and spoken English, with proficient written and oral communication skills
- 1+ year industry experience in food and/or cosmetic product registration
- Essential oil regulatory experience a plus
- Knowledge/Experience with EU, Canada, Latin America, and Asia regulations and compliance standards
- Foreign language skills strongly desired – especially fluency in Spanish, Korean, or Japanese
