Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70k – $90k depending on experience

Are you a sharp, analytical thinker with a knack for optimizing business processes through technology? Do you thrive on bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions within complex systems? We’re looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented ERP Business Analyst to join our team in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

In this pivotal role, you’ll be instrumental in enhancing and maximizing the potential of our custom-tailored Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. You’ll collaborate closely with various departments to dissect business needs, refine existing processes, and ensure our ERP solution continuously evolves to precisely meet our strategic goals and operational demands. This is an exciting opportunity to directly impact efficiency and drive significant improvements across our organization.

What You’ll Do
As our Mid-Level ERP Business Analyst, you’ll be a hands-on contributor, focused on the continuous improvement of our critical ERP system:

  • Requirements Management: Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to elicit, analyze, and meticulously document business requirements for new features, system enhancements, and integrations within our tailored ERP.
  • Process Optimization: Dive deep into our current “as-is” business processes, especially those related to our Order-to-Cash (OTC), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Logistics, and Manufacturing operations, to identify inefficiencies. Then, design streamlined “to-be” processes, leveraging and optimizing the capabilities of our ERP system.
  • Solution Design & Documentation: Translate complex business needs into clear, concise functional specifications, use cases, process flows, and user stories directly related to ERP system functionalities.
  • Technical Liaison: Serve as the key bridge between our business users and technical teams, including our vendor, ERP configurators, and our IT team in Japan HQ. You’ll ensure business requirements are accurately translated and effectively implemented into robust ERP solutions.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Assist in developing comprehensive test plans and actively participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all ERP system changes and new modules, ensuring high quality and alignment with business requirements.
  • User Empowerment: Develop and deliver targeted training materials and engaging sessions to empower end-users, promoting best practices and maximizing the effective utilization and adoption of our tailored ERP system.
  • Data Insight: Support basic data analysis efforts within the ERP environment to uncover trends, identify insights, and pinpoint opportunities for further system or process improvements.
  • Project Collaboration: Actively participate in ERP-related projects, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder alignment, and successful project outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: At least 2 years of dedicated experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong emphasis on working with ERP systems (custom or commercial).
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong technical aptitude.
  • Business Process Acumen: Proven knowledge of core business processes, particularly Order-to-Cash (OTC), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Logistics, and Manufacturing workflows. This is critical for success in this role.
  • Technical Foundation: Familiarity with the general architecture, modules, and common functionalities of ERP systems.
  • Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business information clearly to diverse audiences. Fluent in Japanese business level.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio for process mapping).
  • Collaboration: A demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a collaborative team.
  • Proactive Learner: A self-starter with a strong desire to continuously learn, adapt, and grow within the ERP and business analysis domains.
  • Japanese fluency is a significant plus to facilitate communication with our executives and IT team in Japan headquarters.

Bonus Points For:

  • Hands-on experience with ERP system implementation and basic troubleshooting within an ERP environment.
  • Understanding of database concepts and the ability to write basic SQL queries for ERP data extraction or analysis.
  • Experience with VBA programming for report generation or process automation within Microsoft Office applications integrated with ERP data.
