Provides technical leadership and expertise for Lilly del Caribe in the development, implementation and maintenance of process safety management program (PSM) and related business processes. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise for Lilly del Caribe (LdC) Operations in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Lilly Global integrated Process Safety Management (GIPSM) and Combustible Dust standard. This role will assure sites are up to date with new regulations, Global Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards and good engineering practices. This role has ownership of all necessary documents such as procedures and training needed to assure sustainment of the process safety and combustible dust programs. This position will establish mechanisms to assure integration and replication opportunities are in place for all Lilly del Caribe sites. The position will lead or sponsors process safety committees and will be responsible for the technical development of EHS & operational staff. Will provides technical expertise and support to operations (API/Dry Product Mfg Sites) and new projects ensuring compliance with cGMP, HSE guidelines and regulations, company standards and business practices. Role could also provide support that includes technical expertise (process and equipment), manufacturing and business process improvements, and compliance with business systems.

Education:

BS/MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Professional Engineer License

Experience

  • 7 years of experience in the PSM related field
  • Experience in Process Hazard Reviews (PHR) systems and process
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing support role.
  • At least 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical operations (API/Dry Products preferred)
  • Technical writing experience (e.g. procedures/programs development).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge in managing multiple project objectives or assignments
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills & Teamwork Skills. Establish positive interpersonal relations and interact effectively with people. Demonstrated abilities to work well with people and achieve results with others.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$51,000 – $115,500

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
