Job Profile

The Maintenance Manager – Is responsible for managing all areas within the Maintenance Department as a whole, including Maintenance Dojo, Breakdown Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Kaizen, and Tool Crib. This role will require a problem-solving mindset, consensus-building skills, and perseverance to drive projects to completion. The Maintenance Manager will report to the General Manager on a regular basis.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversight of day-to-day operations within the maintenance department to include Dojo, Breakdown, PM, Kaizen, and Tool Crib departments.
  • Responsible for creation and oversight of maintenance budget.
  • Emergency breakdown event evaluation and communication, including 24 Hr. on call.
  • Drive a culture of problem-solving and thorough root cause analysis among the maintenance group as a whole – don’t settle for “good enough.”
  • Evaluation and alignment of Maintenance Assistant Managers for departmental success with AISIN Texas company initiatives and projects to include: Planning, Implementation, Follow up, and Checking of results.
  • Continuously improve training program for all maintenance members (Dojo, Breakdown, PM, Kaizen, and Tool Crib by introducing new methods or technology and new concepts.
  • Drive the improvement of safety, quality, cost, delivery and moral within maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships with AWTX team members and Japanese team members.
  • Creation of carbon neutrality initiatives (to include planning and implementation) within the maintenance department as a whole.
  • Closely work with Engineering department to analyze and correct manufacturing issues using the maintenance department.
  • Drive departmental IATF compliance.
  • Vendor utilization and relationship building
  • Use CMMS to evaluate pre-set maintenance KPI’s.

Qualifications/Education

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a Maintenance role in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a supervisory/managerial role
  • Experience applying root cause analysis to solve problems
  • Experience managing projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gage pins, gage blocks, thread gages, dial indicators, etc.
  • Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical drawings
  • Ability to create and give formal presentations to senior leadership.
  • Prior experience with PLC’s, CNC machining, and robot maintenance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desired Skills

  • Associate degree or higher
  • 5 Years experience with budgeting
  • Lean 6 Sigma certified or similar certification.
  • Problem-solving mindset, instinct to go see the source of the issue.
  • Goal-oriented, self-confident, able to take constructive feedback
  • Understand manufacturing maintenance metrics and how to manage them
  • Ability to coach/teach members to follow department policies and processes
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and build team member engagement
  • Strong communication skills with peers and staff
  • Experience in a cross-cultural working environment
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to travel on business in US or Japan if needed
  • Ability to adjust hours as necessary dependent on work outlook.
