Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a sushi cook or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary school.
- Experience with various types of sushi and Japanese cooking methods.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used in sushi preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of sushi preparation techniques, which will be utilized daily to create high-quality dishes. Attention to detail is essential, as you will need to ensure that each sushi roll is not only delicious but also visually appealing. Time management skills will be crucial during busy service periods, allowing you to efficiently prepare and serve dishes without compromising quality. Additionally, knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices will be applied to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Preferred skills, such as creativity in flavor combinations and presentation, will enhance the overall dining experience and set our restaurant apart from competitors.
