Position Summary

  • Support Lead Engineer with test plans for new product development and current product improvement by conducting tests and reporting written results with the following duties and responsibilities:
    • Write, check, and follow validation plans including schedule, required equipment, checking and measurement points.
    • Write, check, and submit timely and concise machine test reports, including documentation of findings of specific observed incidents, parts installation / removal and completion of test. The reports will require data reduction and analysis of system/component performance, reliability, and durability requests. Maintain accurate and comprehensive test records for reference and analysis.
    • Evaluate machine performance, diagnose component and system malfunctions, isolate problems and recommend improvements in the development of tractor loaders.
    • Determine the acceptability of prototype product designs and make recommendations to enhance performance, function, reliability/durability and product margin.
    • Audit production and pre-production equipment produced at Kubota manufacturing facilities. Inspect, repair, rework and update test machines / components as required to maintain operation and keep current with design changes.
    • This position will instrument (transducers, accelerometers and strain gage), collect data and analyze data on various component and sub systems in the functional lab or field to determine acceptability of component, subsystem and product designs; recommend alternatives to enhance performance, reliability, quality,
    • Work directly with external customers (dealers and farmers) and Kubota sales and marketing representatives to assure adequate test coverage, security/confidentiality and a favorable Company image to contacts and to obtain information to improve current products and evaluate the need for new products. Evaluate customer appeal and value of product features.
    • Work directly with other members (internal customers) of the development team including design, marketing and manufacturing, as well as other test and quality teams within Kubota, including Japanese R&D.
    • Write and check assembly instruction and quality manuals.
    • Participate and adhere to shop, test space, and test machine 5S activities.
    • Support shop personnel and temporary field test personnel in the testing and evaluation of prototype models.
    • Maintain the company provided equipment to support testing such as vehicles, test equipment and tools for efficient operation.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Any other special projects/ duties assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering in equivalent field, or Extensive experience in engineering project management and non-engineering bachelor degree.
  • Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Presenting Technical Information
  • 0-5 year’s experience with off road equipment or industrial equipment.
  • English language competency including verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communicate with English as second language team members.
  • Moderate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
  • Google mail, calendar, or equivalent
  • Data and file organization
  • Problem solving and investigative personality that can analytically articulate their perceptions and concepts in a manner that differentiates facts and opinions in verbal and written form.

  • Eligible to drive KRDNA Truck (KRDNA Driver’s List plus must maintain a valid DOT License)

  • Ability to travel and or obtain visa to Canada and Japan.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required 0-30%. Some travel may be required with little notice, over weekends, and rarely some holidays. Travel may be up to 1 month at a time. Comfort with Japan travel by oneself. Participate in dealer surveys, dealer meetings, and division support
