Position Description- Senior Manager – Accounting

Position Summary:

Lead and work hands-on with the Accounting team to manage all core accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, payroll, and cash management.
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective coordination with the parent company and external auditors.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and develop Accounting team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Perform and review key accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, monthly and annual closings, and financial reporting to the parent company.
  • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and key financial analyses to support management decisions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, and internal controls.
  • Act as liaison with the parent company, external auditors, and tax professionals.
  • Handle payroll accounting processes, including reviewing payroll data and preparing related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage day-to-day cash flows and maintain appropriate liquidity levels.
  • Review and optimize accounting and related operational workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control.
  • Enhance accounting systems and drive process improvement initiatives for greater automation and reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure all tax and compliance activities are completed properly and on time.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • The position requires 8+ years’ experience in an accounting position.
  • Bilingual in English and Japanese.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve employee morale.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and time, task, and resource management skills.

  • Familiarity with budget planning and enforcement, and customer service procedures.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Working conditions:

Work is performed mainly both in an office and a remote environment. Travel is required when the company events take place. This position is subject to longer hours including the company-wide meetings and weekend company events, along with extensive computer work.

Minimum USD Salary: 120,000
Maximum USD Salary: 120,000
