Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Seasonal Sushi Chef to join our kitchen team at LoLa 41, a fast-paced and friendly Japanese restaurant. This position also offers full-time employment on Nantucket for the summer season that includes housing so this can be a full-time year-round position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Japanese cuisine, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
This is a great opportunity to learn sushi preparation and work alongside experienced chefs.

Responsibilities:
• Assist sushi chefs with daily prep work (cutting vegetables, preparing rice, portioning ingredients)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area
• Receive, label, and store food supplies properly
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed
• Wash dishes and help with kitchen cleanup as needed
• Other kitchen support duties as assigned

Requirements:
• Prior kitchen or food prep experience is preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Basic knife skills are a plus
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Punctual, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings
