Role Overview

Own and drive the regional product strategy and long-term roadmap for Americas region. Act as product specialist and the single point of accountability connecting product planning, product development, homologation, sales, marketing, and market intelligence to deliver competitive, compliant, and customer-centric products.

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Drive the regional product strategy process and roadmap in coordination with LD/MD/HD Headquarters
  • Identify and address growth opportunities across segments, applications, and product modification requests based on market and regulatory needs.
  • Build and present business cases and feasibility studies for new products, segments, and market entries.
  • Lead release for sale process, ensuring market readiness for new products

Product Configuration and Expertise

  • Own product specification, combinations and variants, including system parametrization.
  • Act as regional product specialist, with deep understanding of vehicle systems, features, product variants, and their applications.
  • Monitor and report product performance through field trials, market feedback, and operational data, driving continuous improvement.

Regulatory & Homologation

  • Lead the collection, documentation and management of legal, regulatory, and homologation requirements, coordinating with authorities, importers and product management.

Sales, Marketing & Launches

  • Actively educate, train, and support sales teams and importers on product systems, features, variants, option combinations, application suitability and limitations.
  • Translate technical product complexity into sales arguments, customers benefits and clear sales-ready content.
  • Support sales and marketing teams with clear product specifications, technical content, brochures, and value propositions.
  • Support commercial projects, product launches, demonstrations, and training programs.

Customer, Body Builder & Market Interface

  • Maintain tight relationships with body builders, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Systematically collect customer and market feedback, translating insights into product and portfolio enhancements.

Knowledge

  • Deep truck product and systems expertise – powertrain, chassis, electronics, safety, and application-based specification across segment/local use cases.
  • Project management and product portfolio management – time and action plans, roadmaps, segmentation, business cases, competitor’s analysis.
  • Regulatory and homologation mastery in Latin America – emissions, safety, import rules, and translation of legal requirements into product specifications.
  • Application and customer understanding – TCO, operating conditions, fuel standards, load practices, configurations, and buying behaviour across LATAM markets.
  • Sales and importer enablement capability – ability to translate product systems, variants, and combinations into clear training, tools, and sales arguments.

Skills

  • Cross-functional leadership and execution – influence without authority, coordination across engineering, sales, marketing, and importers, and disciplined decision-making.
  • Project management
  • Strong communication fluency in English. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Japanese is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and AI tools.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 to 10 years of Techno-commercial experience in Product Management/ Product strategy/ Sales Engineering areas.
  • Solid experience in product support in the truck industry and its applications.
  • Knowledge of UD Trucks product structure and sales systems is an advantage (desirable).
