Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Lead and support daily supplier-related issue resolution for the assigned Aisin manufacturing facility, ensuring timely response and minimal production disruption.
  • Analyze and review current production costs, identifying variances and opportunities for cost improvement.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives, including root-cause analysis and corrective action activities for non-commercial issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and operational concerns.
  • Manage and control all change point activities within the mass production supplier base, including ECI, PCR, ECR, and RSPME (FSR) processes.
  • Lead current production projects, such as resourcing activities and volume increase initiatives, ensuring effective communication, tracking, and coordination with relevant teams.
  • Support NAP plant meetings by preparing updates and reporting on current purchasing and supplier-related activities.
  • Strengthen relationships with NAP suppliers, serving as the primary liaison between the plant and the supply base.
  • Support IATF audit activities, ensuring supplier related processes and documentation meet compliance requirements.
  • Lead Supplier Scorecard management, including performance tracking, reporting, and communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead Monthly Cost Approval/Reporting Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for internal and external contacts.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel, and the ability to create graphs/ spreadsheets/charts.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Negotiation Skills.
  • Document Management.
  • Ability to create effective memos and letters.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Experience in automotive industry with understanding of standard job functions and requirements within the industry.
  • Prior Purchasing experience and/or Project experience in automotive industry or industrial environment.
  • Experience in multi-cultural environment, preferably Japanese-based.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, other Applied Science, or Purchasing supply chain management is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business or other non-technical area is acceptable based on proven technical skill.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 10-20 %
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
