Job Summary:
The Client Service Intern is responsible for timely and satisfactory execution of client digital marketing programs, contributing to client satisfaction and the achievement of client and Rakuten Advertising revenue goals. This is a strong partnership role working closely with Account Managers and Clients to provide the utmost level of service.
In this role, you will gain experience managing client accounts to implement marketing strategies across multiple verticals including finance, travel, and technology; to expand market reach, increase engagement, and maximize digital marketing investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage communication and act as liaison between publishers, advertisers, account managers, and clients
- Update client promotions, creative and communications as necessary
- Audit creative and placements as mandated by account team/client
- Monitor client support email/calls and respond or route inquiries appropriately
- Ensure client issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Review partnered affiliate websites to identify optimization opportunities
- Monitor projects to ensure deadlines are met
- Prepare and run performance reports
- Create prospect lists using reports and independent research

- Proven track record of execution
- Technical Abilities: Must be able to quickly learn proprietary software to manage campaigns and report results. Solid proficiency with Excel for client-ready reports and presentations. Ability to learn PowerPoint and Rakuten tools and processes
- Communication Skills: Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Detail orientation
- Attention to deadlines
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a focus on Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, or a related field.
- Participation in business case competitions, marketing clubs, or student organizations that involve strategic planning or project execution.
- Experience with team projects in academic settings where you contributed to marketing research, campaign development, or presentation of findings.
- Any prior experience (even volunteer or personal projects) in content creation, social media management, or website updates.
At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $20 – $25 per hour. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
