About the Role

OMA New York is looking for a Junior Business Development Officer who is interested in the business side of our operations. In this position, you will support business development efforts in the Americas and Japan from our New York office. Your role will involve responding to both public procurement bids and private project enquiries; conducting research into new markets and opportunities, updating and maintaining a database of business development materials. You will write, prepare, layout and produce qualifications packages, proposals, presentation materials, competition entries, and marketing collaterals. You will report to the Business Development Manager and work closely with the Partners in OMA’s New York office to evaluate and pursue new potential projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and assist in the assessment of potential new projects.
  • Prepare RFI’s, RFQ’s RFP’s and fee proposals.
  • Maintain a continuous overview of potential projects and efforts.
  • Organize, maintain, and update a comprehensive database of past proposals, project information sheets, CVs, portfolios, presentations, and other marketing collaterals.
  • Prepare regular progress updates on a weekly basis or as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for the above purposes.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Studies, Design, Communications, Business Administration, Real Estate or a related field;
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an internationally reputable architecture firm.
  • Experience in responding to time-sensitive RFI’s, RFQ’s, RFP’s, and client proposals in the US.
  • Pro-active, hands-on, self-motivated and confident in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to facilitate coordination across internal teams and external partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in another language, preferably Japanese and/or French, is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (with strong InDesign capabilities).
  • Demonstrated graphic layout and production skills (please demonstrate in portfolio), and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of OMA’s work and the architectural field in general.
