Job Summary:
This position oversees all warehouse operations in Michigan, ensuring accurate inventory, efficient shipping and receiving, and adherence to established processes. This role provides leadership to the Warehouse Lead and all Warehouse Associates, directing daily activities and maintaining high operational standards. It is responsible for managing all functions related to the receipt and shipment of finished goods and materials in an effective, timely, and organized manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning, monitoring, and driving processes to improve KPI’s related to all aspects of shipping and receiving.
- Set and achieve housekeeping standards (5S), driving process changes in order to improve cleanliness and meet standards and procedures for maintenance related functions.
- Model and drive best safety practices in the industry to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This includes training and MIOSHA/OSHA compliance as well as safety team participation.
- Establish, implement, and follow-up on procedures to obtain consistent process and work standards in the warehouse. This will include participation in any IATF-16949 audit activity as needed.
- Oversee and drive management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conducting staff meetings; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Conduct regular meetings and process analysis to identify problem resolutions.
- Provide regular reports as directed.
- Oversee regular inventory cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and process efficiencies.
- Process and file all product and related documentation for incoming material accurately.
- Ensures Quality of the product by confirming all cartons are accurate and not damaged.
- Verify that all bar code labels, ISR, IPP, New Model Launch Documents and other special labels and/or documents are attached to the correct shipment.
- Creates and maintains documents for ISO certification and compliance.
- Oversees warehouse equipment maintenance and repair.
- Manage the inventory accuracy of both the ERP System (C.core) and Financial tool (SAGE).
- Work alongside the Logistics Manager to ensure capacity in all forms is adequate to support upcoming programs and new volumes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- At least three years in distribution management
- Maintained a good understanding of relevant accounting, international trade, and commercial issues
- Bachelor’s degree in a related business field, or equivalent experience
- Understanding of Japanese business culture or language is preferred (however not required).
- Preferred experience in the Automotive industry as both a Tier-1 and Tier-2 supplier.
