We are seeking a dedicated Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at Indiana Automotive Fasteners, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for managing environmental compliance programs at a manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and serves as the facility’s primary resource for environmental permitting, reporting, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Ensure facility compliance with EPA, IDEM, and applicable local environmental regulations.
- Manage environmental permits, including air permits, stormwater permits, and other applicable regulatory permits.
- Prepare and submit environmental regulatory reports such as Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), and emissions reports.
- Manage hazardous waste programs in accordance with RCRA regulations, including storage, labeling, manifesting, and vendor coordination.
- Conduct internal environmental compliance inspections and audits.
- Serve as primary point of contact during environmental regulatory inspections.
- Maintain environmental records and compliance documentation
- Support and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO14002 Environmental Management System requirements.
- Support environmental incidents, including spills, releases, and corrective actions.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and hazardous waste.
- Experience interacting with regulatory agencies preferred.
- ISO 14001 experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before team members, peers and management of the organization. Fluent in English: Japanese as a second language is helpful.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometric functions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to draw inferences, reach conclusions, arrive at solutions, and make decisions based on available evidence. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
