JOB SUMMARY
Supports monthly and quarterly close activities by preparing financial reports, reconciliations, budgets, and financial statements while ensuring accuracy across branch and corporate accounting records. Manage overseas agent settlements, bank and account reconciliation, payroll and tax support, system entries in vNext, and provides general accounting and booking support across the organization.
Duties & Functions
Essential:
• Assist with monthly and quarterly closing processes, including preparation of branch profit and loss reports.
• Prepare monthly financial and statistical reports and assist in the review and preparation of financial statements.
• Review monthly revenue and expenses and analyze variances against budget.
• Assist with Reconciliation of AP, Advance, Prepaid and accruals.
• Prepare and assist with forwarder and overseas agent settlements.
• Participates in the review and preparation of financial statements.
• Review overseas agent invoices, create settlement statements, and communicate with overseas agents to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Coordinate with branch offices to reconcile overseas invoices and related accounts.
• Generate wire transfers to overseas agents and ensure accurate settlement processing.
• Input agent settlements, payroll journal entries, adjustments, and customer receivable adjustments into vNext Accounting.
• Reconcile NNR USA bank accounts.
• Assist with Japanese payroll processing and Japan employee tax filings.
• Input Payroll GL into vNext.
• Support cargo claims processing as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous accounting clerk and bookkeeping duties to support the accounting department.
• Analyze and synthesize complex information from multiple sources, applying judgment to adapt or modify outcomes to meet specific business needs and constraints.
• Actively listen to and effectively communicate with co-workers and business clients to understand, clarify, and resolve concerns or issues.
• Comply at all times with NNR USA standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient business operations.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or accounting.
• Possesses broad, working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables, basic financial modeling).
• Foundational financial and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with reporting tools (Power BI or similar) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Highly detail oriented demonstrating effective organizational and time management skills.
Physical requirements:
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Light/Medium work – Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of
force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Overnight travel may be required.
