Job Description
A major Japanese financial institution in New York is seeking a Japanese-English Bilingual KYC Client Liaison Analyst to support its Japanese Corporate Banking division.

This is a client-facing role serving as a key liaison between Japanese corporate clients, Relationship Managers, and internal compliance/KYC teams. Prior banking experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong bilingual communication, client service, administrative, or operations experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for Japanese corporate clients regarding KYC and onboarding requirements.
• Collect and review corporate documents, ownership information, identification documents, and other KYC materials.
• Coordinate new client onboarding and periodic/ad-hoc KYC reviews.
• Communicate KYC requirements clearly to clients and Relationship Managers in both Japanese and English.
• Respond to inquiries and follow up on outstanding documentation to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain and update client information in internal systems.
• Coordinate with Compliance, Relationship Managers, and other internal teams.
• Support process improvement and other departmental projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Fluent Japanese and English – speaking, reading, and writing – required.
• 1+ year of professional experience.
• Banking, financial services, KYC/AML, client service, operations, or administrative experience preferred.
• Strong customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and AI/productivity tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of KYC/AML, CIP, CDD, EDD, OFAC, or FinCEN requirements is a plus, but not required.
