About the Company
Laurasian Institution is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group specializing in meaningful, high-quality programs of academic exchange, particularly between Japan and the US. We’ve been operating programs sponsored by both the US Department of State and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1990.
Among projects such as TOMODACHI, Kakehashi, and Kizuna, our flagship programs include:
New Perspective: Japan (NP:J) is our 2-week summer study abroad program. It’s an exciting opportunity for students and teachers to visit Japan and get fully immersed in the language and culture.
Japanese Language Education Assistant Program (J-LEAP) brings native Japanese teachers to US schools for 2 years, team-teaching with a local language teacher and enriching classroom activities.
Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI) brings Japanese cultural coordinators to US nonprofit organizations and universities, where they will spend 2 years promoting Japan in their local communities through outreach activities.
