Position Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (30 – 40 hours per week – Flexible hours)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an Entry Level Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you will assist in processing accounts payable invoices, verifying payments, and maintaining vendor relationships. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career in accounting and finance. While prior experience is not required, strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly is essential. A college degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding, proper authorization, and timely payments.
  • Verify and reconcile vendor statements, promptly resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors by addressing inquiries and resolving payment-related issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure necessary approvals and documentation are obtained for payments.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
  • Prepare and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Help maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Japanese is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is 100% on-site, and while hours are flexible, we expect a commitment of 4 to 8 hours of work per day in the office environment.
  • Occasional overtime may be requested to meet deadlines, particularly during month-end and year-end closing periods, as well as during peak business periods.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, such as computers, printers, and calculators.

Benefits:

  • Vacation: 2-4 weeks depending on years of service. Accrued 1/26 per pay period after completion of 90 days of employment.
