Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven APAC Equities Salesperson with fluency in Japanese to join our Investment Banking team. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with institutional clients, a deep understanding of Asia-Pacific (APAC) equity markets, and the ability to drive revenue through effective sales strategies. This role involves advising institutional clients on equity products, executing trades, and collaborating with research, trading, and structuring teams to deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, including asset managers, hedge funds, and pension funds across APAC.
- Market and sell a broad range of equity products, including cash equities, derivatives, structured products, and IPO offerings.
- Provide market insights, investment ideas, and trade recommendations based on in-depth research and analysis.
- Work closely with equity research, trading, and corporate finance teams to align client strategies with market opportunities.
- Execute equity trades efficiently while ensuring best execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth by expanding the client base and increasing trading volumes.
- Keep clients informed on key market trends, macroeconomic developments, and investment opportunities in APAC equities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, risk policies, and internal controls.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Fluency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken) is required; proficiency in additional APAC languages is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; CFA or MBA preferred.
- 3-7+ years of experience in equities sales, trading, or a related role within an investment bank or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of APAC equity markets, equity derivatives, and structured products.
- Established client relationships with institutional investors in Japan and across APAC.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to present investment ideas clearly.
- Proven track record of driving revenue and meeting sales targets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and regulatory-driven environment.
