Inaba Foods (USA) Inc., is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant Manager to oversee and coordinate all Accounting activities for the US.

Role and Responsibilities/Oversee:

  • Data entry and filing tasks for accounts payable, purchase orders, equipment inventory, and company files.
  • Expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
  • Reconciliation of accounts payable and receivables and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors ledger).
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Confirms employer identification numbers have been collected from all vendors for payables to prepare and submit 1099s.
  • Facilitates correct and timely in preparation of purchase journals.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting.
  • Perform other additional duties as assigned Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead/direct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and related deliverables.
  • Provide month-end closing support for all general ledger activity (including consolidation & elimination processes).
  • Guide the maintenance and accuracy of financial statements, including account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
  • Supervision, training and ongoing development of staff.
  • Review and approve monthly manual journal entries, as assigned.
  • Review and sign-off on monthly balance sheet reconciliations in audit-ready format, as assigned.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statement reporting.
  • Serve as a key contact in facilitating the completion of the Company’s Annual Audit.
  • Actively participate in the adherence to established internal controls.
  • Provide support to peers tasked with the development and maintenance of accounting policies and controls, compliant with standards of effective internal controls as set by Parent. Evaluate appropriate implementation strategies for changes in accounting standards and/or controls.
  • Adheres to all Company policies, procedures and business ethic codes. Represents the Company in a professional manner.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting and Office environment, including team supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks; familiarity with Business Central preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and closing cycles.
  • Ability to compile data from multiple sources for financial reports.
  • Experience in broker commission or rebate tracking and calculation.
  • Excellent organizational skills, reliability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks including delegation of tasks when appropriate.
  • Adaptable and flexible; responsive and resourceful in a fast-paced, quick turn business model.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), and note that experience with Excel using Macros, VBA, or Python is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Japanese language proficiency preferred.
  • Must work on-site in Torrance, CA

Minimum USD Salary: 75,000
Maximum USD Salary: 115,000
