IJW Whiskey Company, LLC (IJW) is a dynamic, fully integrated spirits company. Founded in 2017, we’ve compiled the largest independent library of aged Kentucky bourbon and rye and established a global presence including offices in Beverly Hills, Louisville and Tokyo, Japan, a 40-acre campus in Danville and a bottling facility in Harrodsburg. Our ambitious growth trajectory includes the recent groundbreaking of a new whiskey distillery in Shelbyville, KY, slated for completion in early 2025, and plans for a Japanese distillery in Chitose set to commence in 2025.

With over 100 years of combined industry expertise, our diverse team of seasoned professionals and dynamic newcomers has propelled IJW to the forefront of the spirits industry. Our strategic partnership with one of the nation’s largest independent Wine & Spirits distributors has enabled us to offer 22 products across four unique private label bourbon brands in 28 states. We have added to our spirits portfolio with our first Tequila brand launch in Q3 of 2024.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for an Associate Barrel Warehouse Operator I to handle and load our whiskey barrels into and out of our rickhouses. This is a full-time hourly position, 40 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Associate Maturation Operator will be responsible for barrel movements into and out of rickhouses, trucks and trailers; operation of rickhouse equipment including, but not limited to, hydraulic barrel rickers, Class 6 trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a high level of expectation regarding safety culture.
  • Assist with maintenance, housekeeping and upkeep of IJW property, buildings and equipment as assigned by Maturation Manager.
  • Have working knowledge of all rickhouse procedures, methods, equipment, etc. and be able to perform all duties as needed.
  • Perform all other duties and maintenance as assigned by Maturation Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School diploma.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others and multi-task.
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and complete basic recordkeeping as needed.
  • Good attitude and team player.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 75 lbs, and navigate the facility.
  • Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled areas.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, bend, kneel, and squat.
