Purpose of the Position/Job Summary:
The Business Development Associate (BDA) plays a pivotal role in the organization’s new business development initiatives by identifying and analyzing new business opportunities and executing assigned tasks.
Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to business development initiatives in collaboration with various business groups at the organization, supporting the exploration and commercialization of new business and investment opportunities.
- Handle project-related tasks, prepare presentation and proposal materials, and engage with internal teams and external partners to support the development of business plans.
- Contribute to improving the efficiency of new business development efforts through day-to-day coordination and insight sharing.
- Conduct in-depth research on technology and industry trends developments, assessing their potential impact on the company, and provide direct reports to managers.
- Conduct research and analysis of market data and industry reports to help identify and evaluate potential business opportunities beyond existing domains, working closely with the Head of Silicon Valley Branch and the Corporate Senior Manager.
- Evaluate the viability of new opportunities, provide data-driven recommendations and stay updated on the latest trends in technology and industry changes. This role involves gaining knowledge and expanding the network through attending conferences and connecting with startups and venture capitalists. By staying ahead of industry trends, you will provide strategic insights that support informed decision-making.
- Provide support to the head of Silicon Valley Branch and the Corporate Senior Manager. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, documenting action items, managing documents, and providing daily operational support to enhance overall organizational efficiency.
Key Qualifications – REQUIRED:
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in research and business development
- Intermediate-level experience in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Business-level English and Japanese proficiency
- Strong writing skills
- Experience in supporting operations, initiatives, and administrative tasks within a corporate setting.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting industry and market analysis using various external sources.
- Bachelor’s degree

Compensation
The expected base salary for this position is $106,342.50 – $136,118.40. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for an international language premium of 5%. The bonus target for this position is 10%. Compensation decisions are dependent on the specific details and circumstances of each hire, such as experience, skills, and education.

MCA follows a hybrid schedule working in-office at least three days a week and remotely for the rest of most positions.
