We have an Associate Manager, Material Control & Logistics position available. This hybrid position leads the procurement strategy for raw materials, ensuring supply chain efficiency, cost control, and compliance. Manages the supplier relationship to ensure on-time delivery of quality products and services. Works with production scheduling, management, quality assurance and shipping/receiving to ensure on-time availability of required items. Manages the supplier relationship to ensure on-time delivery of quality products and services. Sales administration responsibilities from managing raw materials to shipment of foam; Sales demand file; Finished Goods demand tracking, analysis and forecast; Finished Goods inventory management and aged report and sales report to Japan. Corresponds and translates reports/documents into English/Japanese.

Essential Duties:

  • Supply Chain & Logistics Management to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for cost savings and quality improvement
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to prevent shortages or excess, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as finance, production, and sales, to forecast needs and align procurement activities with business objectives.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze procurement and logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices. Run daily reports
  • Cross trains with other Material Control Group team members, including scheduling, accounts receivable, financial analysis, part codes, etc.
  • Manages Material Control team members.
  • Translates reports/documents in Japanese/English and ensures timely follow up and submittal of requests.
  • This position performs various sales administrative duties from raw materials up to the shipment of foam
  • Prepares FG (finished goods) aged report and sales detail report for Japan
  • Maintain sales demand file; prepares month-end aged Inventory worksheet
  • FG inventory management; detailed reports, scheduling meetings, drive appropriate actions to manage
  • As needed prepare forecasts for both the Production and Sales departments

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Japanese
  • Excellent statistical and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines
  • Must be able to go to production floor, work in hot environment, and stand for up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Must adapt work schedule with advanced notice for evening business meetings, international visitors, etc.
  • Must have 4 plus years supervisory/management experience.

Education & Experience Required:

  • BS or equivalent highly preferred
  • 5 years or more of Supply Chain management/logistics experience
  • Account management experience
