Manufacturing and Quality Tech@Lilly (MQ Technology at Lilly) supports manufacturing operational excellence and productivity efforts through utilization of information and technology. MQ Tech@Lilly strives to enable the making of medicine “with safety first and quality always”. Significant investment and usage of data and analytics in the making of medicine is occurring where capabilities from simple visualizations to predictive and prescriptive analytics and machine learning are rapidly emerging across the global manufacturing landscape. To support and enable the running of the site, a robust data strategy and architecture is required. The architecture needs to include IT and OT data and be based on cloud technology.

The Data Architect will be responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and principles to manage all data most effectively across the site and setting up the necessary processes for its continued expansion, maintenance, and support. In addition, it will have the responsibility of defining this data strategy and related architecture. The Data Architect will need to work with local and global stakeholders to ensure delivery of the solutions prioritized by the site.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 3+ years of experience designing large scale data models for functional, operational, and analytical environments (Conceptual, Logical, Physical & Dimensional)
  • Demonstrated SQL and data modeling proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex data domains and craft practical solutions for subsequent data exploitation via analytics
  • Ability to review and provide practical recommendations on design patterns, performance considerations & optimization, database versions, and database deployment strategies
  • Knowledgeable in data functions such as Data Governance, Master Data Management, Business Intelligence
  • Experience with data modeling tools.
  • Experience in AWS or Azure
  • Experience with security models and development on large data sets
  • Experience with multiple database technologies
  • Experience with multiple database solutions (e.g. Postgres, Redshift, Aurora, Athena) and formal database designs (3NF, Dimensional Models)
  • Experience with Agile Development, CI/CD, Jenkins, Github, Automation platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a geographically dispersed group of business and technical colleagues
  • Knowledgeable in data functions such as Data Governance, Master Data Management, Business Intelligence
  • Experience in moving on premises solutions into cloud and knowledge in multiple data ingestion patterns
  • Mobility within and outside Puerto Rico and the Unites States.
  • Work as a resource in other areas of the business, based on business needs.
  • Availability to provide support to a 24/7 operation as needed (irregular hours, shifts rotation, weekends, holidays, emergencies).
  • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Teamwork oriented
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under supervision.
  • Strong compliance mindset and sound judgment

Additional Preferences :

  • CDMP Certification
  • AWS Solution Architect
  • Experience in several of the following disciplines: statistical methods, data modeling, ontology development, semantic graph construction and linked data, relational schema design, artificial intelligence and machine learning

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$78,750 – $115,500

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
