Casa Madera is a high-energy, fine-dining concept from hospitality group Noble 33, located in both West Hollywood and Toronto.

The Barback will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked, and supporting the Bartender to ensure that the bar operates smoothly. Successful barbacks must be knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, passionate about working as part of a team, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest
  • Maintain a working environment that complies with health and safety guidelines
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, napkins, clean towels, glassware, etc.
  • Check taps and appliances to confirm that they are in operating order, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, as needed
  • Keep the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, emptying trash receptacles, etc.
  • Possess knowledge on the preparation of all beverages we offer and mastery of the food menu in order to guide guests’ choices with thoughtful recommendations
  • Keep a clean and organized bar and maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Be mechanical in execution-use organized steps of service to ensure order accuracy and consistency even in the busiest of times
  • Be proactive and anticipate the needs of coworkers and guests
  • Build rapport with guests in order to increase repeat clientele

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • A clean and professional appearance
  • Strong multitasking abilities and a diligent work ethic
  • Ability to forecast and anticipate the needs of our guests and the restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits and wine
  • Night, weekend, and holiday availability
  • Ability to stand for the duration of shifts and lift up to 25 lbs
