We’re seeking native Japanese-speaking legal professionals based in Japan to contribute their legal expertise and linguistic precision to the development of advanced AI systems in the legal domain. This role blends your deep understanding of Japanese law with bilingual communication skills to produce accurate, culturally nuanced, and technically sound legal content in Japanese.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Legal Content Development: Translate, interpret, and synthesize complex legal concepts, ensuring region-specific laws, procedures, and terminology are accurately represented.
Bilingual Communication: Write fluently in both Japanese and English, maintaining legal precision and nuance across languages.
Domain Expertise: Offer insights into the Japanese legal system, ensuring localized and contextually accurate content.
Collaboration: Work with reviewers and peers to refine materials, validate accuracy, and align content with established legal standards in Japan.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Language Skills: Native-level fluency in Japanese with strong written and spoken English.
  • Education: Advanced degree in Law.
  • Experience: 2-6+ years of practicing law in Japan.
  • Skills: Strong writing, analytical, and communication abilities with attention to legal accuracy and cultural context.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with assessment or rubric development.
  • Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts (not required but beneficial).

Role Details

  • Type: Remote, asynchronous – work on your own schedule.
  • Commitment: Minimum of 20 hours per week for approximately 2 months.
  • Environment: Structured project setup with defined goals, tools, and workflows.
Minimum USD hourly rate: 90.00
Maximum USD hourly rate: 110.00
