    Summary:

    The Combustion Business Startup Manager is responsible for planning a team of special sales team, developing new businesses with combustion control products in the North American combustion market.

    Products: Flame detectors, flame/combustion controllers, Gas/Air solenoid valves, Gas/air pressure switches, ignitors, mod-motors for butterfly valves, Gas/Air flow meters and controllers, temperature controllers and data logging monitoring devices.

    Location: Initial focus will be in the Mid-West territories.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Plan, cultivate, develop business with the target players within the industry.

    2. 1-2 year planning of the business unit and creation of the team.

    OEM/integrator focused road maps per quarter with target clients.

    3. Achieve both short and long term trajectories and initiate project plan modifications as needed to reach objectives.

    4. Hire, train and direct local application-tech, market dedicated sales to accommodate growth … with ROI in mind!

    5. Final goal setting and the judgement on the product/service needs.

    6. Team work: Working in hand with our Japanese Tech-Director stationed in Mason office to develop a team and business. Also with our Automotive Sales Group members to support developing of new install/replacement jobs at current clientele.

    7. Provide monthly/quarterly sales activity report to the management.

    8. Communication with Japan factory for product related specs and developments required for the US market with proper logic and backup information.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position has responsibility of supervising your team which you will be requested to plan the hire.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    This position requires:
    • Familiarity with the industry’s players, key decision makers and able to approach potential clients, members of IHEA (Or another industry trade) to establish new relationship
    • Familiarity with the gas-train and related control products and needs in North America
    • Ability to collaborate with existing sales staff who covers the Japan based users
    • Ability to create plans and required actions, access the potential issue, execute and initiate plan modifications as needed
    • Ability to make a judgement on what is needed in our product/service offering
    • Ability to make a judgement to the potential client strategy set
    • Ability to listen to the Japan management and adapt the process mindset (PDCA=Plan, Do, Check, Act)
    • Ability to motivate, explain, convince the actions and manage the team created
    • Highly Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • High level technical skill set in instrumentation.
    • The ability to effectively present technical information and respond to technical questions.
    • The ability to effectively communicate and interface with many corporate, customer, and employee levels.

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Travel in personal vehicle, plane, train, bus, etc. will be required when visiting customers.

    General Requirements:
    • Competency in MS office: Reporting in Excel, Words, Power Points and Sales Force Security
    • Sales experience involving components for industrial boiler, industrial furnaces & ovens.

    Physical Demands:
    • While performing this position, the employee will regularly be required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
    • Must have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
    • Travels to the customer sites. Travel with the supervising staffs and team members.

    Periodical sales, management meeting.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours determined by supervisor.

    Travel:
    • Ability to travel frequently as needed for job.
    • Occasional overnight travel.

    Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional experience specific to combustion application, controlling components and familiarity with major combustion equipment manufacturing companies.
    • 5+ year experience in account management.
    • 3-5+ year experience at account manager/sales engineer/regional sales.
    • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills.
    • Relationship management skills and openness for feedback through continuous improvement.
    • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
    • Familiarity with different sales techniques and pipeline management.
    • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
    • Ability to anticipate customer’s needs and match them with appropriate products and services.
    • Excellent word processing, spreadsheet skills and PowerPoint skills.

    Compensation: $125,000-$170,000

    Minimum USD Salary: 125,000
    Maximum USD Salary: 170,000
