About the Host

The Host at Cannonball is the first point of contact for guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They manage seating, waitlists, and reservations with efficiency and professionalism, ensuring a smooth flow of service. With a friendly demeanor and strong communication skills, they set the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

What You’ll Do

• Greet with a Smile: Welcome guests warmly, provide a positive first impression, and create a memorable experience.
• Manage the Flow: Coordinate seating arrangements, handle reservations, and manage waitlists efficiently.
• Stay Cool Under Pressure: Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor during busy times to ensure a seamless experience for our guests.
• Answer Questions: Be ready to provide information on our menu, daily specials, and restaurant amenities.
• Team Up: Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to create a smooth, cohesive dining experience.
• Maintain a Welcoming Space: Keep the entrance, host station, and guest waiting areas clean, organized, and inviting.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to constantly stand and exert well-paced mobility for a period up to 8 hours in length.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and squat on a frequent basis to receive and store stock, supplies and equipment as well as to work the line during service periods.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and listen attentively to supervisors, employees, vendors and guests.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Previous work experience as a Host/ Hostess or in customer service (barista/ retail preferred).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Prior experience in a related field.
• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Maintains composure under periods of high stress and high volume.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills are critical for success.

Expected Hours of Work

Open availability with 2 out of the 3 weekend days available.
