Compensation: $130,000 – $140,000 Annual Contract Value

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Director- Restaurant Development to oversee approximately 8-10 restaurant construction projects concurrently. This role will manage the full development lifecycle from preconstruction through turnover, working closely with ownership, architects, consultants, landlords, and general contractors.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in restaurant or retail construction, multi-unit rollout execution, contractor/vendor management, and budget control.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee 8-10 active restaurant construction projects simultaneously
  • Lead preconstruction planning including budgeting, scheduling, scope review, and value engineering
  • Manage permitting process and coordinate with local jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers (MEP), and design consultants
  • Review and validate construction documents for constructability and cost control
  • Manage general contractors and subcontractors to maintain schedule compliance
  • Monitor project budgets and control cost exposure
  • Conduct site visits to ensure quality and safety standards
  • Coordinate landlord requirements and lease-driven construction obligations
  • Drive projects through final inspection, punch list, and turnover

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of commercial construction experience
  • 3+ years managing restaurant or retail build-out projects
  • Experience handling multiple concurrent projects (5+ at a time)
  • Strong understanding of municipal permitting and approval processes
  • Proven ability to manage construction budgets and schedules
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and vendor management skills
  • Ability to work independently and report directly to ownership

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in multi-unit restaurant rollout.
  • Experience working with franchise or corporate restaurant brands.
