    GSW Manufacturing, Inc., an international manufacturer, and technology developer serving the wiring harness industry, seeks a detailed oriented, innovative Cost Analyst who can see the bigger picture while still focusing on specifics. You will join a talented and collaborative Business Planning Team at our Findlay, Ohio, headquarters.

    Job Description

    Cost Analyst, working under the Senior Business Planning Analyst is responsible for supporting business planning activities by focusing on strategy for analyzing data, preparing reports, and assisting in developing strategic plans to optimize business operations, while ensuring compliance with import/export and customs regulations.

    Responsibilities

    What you’ll do…

    • Cost Modeling and Analysis:
      • Complete and maintain complex financial cost models.
      • Return On Investment (ROI), Labor Rate, Variable Fixed (VF) Breakeven, Sales analysis, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) analysis, Direct Productivity Analysis.
    • Data Analysis and Reporting:
      • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variance, and areas for improvement.
      • Conduct scenario-based and sensitivity analysis.
      • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
    • Import/Export and Custom Compliance:
      • Analyze import/export data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
      • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade laws, tariffs, and regulations.
      • Import/Export compliance reporting, including US customs reconciliations, Duties refunds.
      • Analyze USMCA pass/fail for customers.
      • Lead the USMCA solicitations for suppliers.
    • Market Research:
      • Conduct market research and competitive analysis.
      • Support Sales & EG Vision meeting.
    • Performance Monitoring:
      • Tracking and evaluating business performance against strategic goals and objectives.
      • Follow key performance indicators (KPIs) using performance dashboards.
      • Productivity, Gross Time, Product Cost, Value Added, FTE and overtime management.
    • Strategic Planning:
      • Assist in the development and implementation of business plans and strategies.
    • Process Improvement:
      • Identifying inefficiencies in business processes and proposing improvements.
      • Involve working cross-functionally with other departments to align strategies and operations.
    • Project Management:
      • Leading and managing projects that support strategic initiatives.
      • Coordinating with multiple stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring projects meet their objectives.

    **Note – This is a full-time, in-person role, standard work hours 8am – 5pm.

    Qualifications

    You’ll have…

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or another math-related field.
    • Previous internship or work experience in business planning, cost or finance analysis, import/export operations, manufacturing environment or automotive is advantageous but not required.
    • Knowledge of import/export regulations and international trade practices is a plus.
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Understanding of cost accounting principles and ROI analytics.

    Even better, you may have…

    • BI software, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar tools are advantageous.
    • Experience with other Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and Planning software.
    • Ability to read or speak Spanish or Japanese.
    • Prior experience in project management and leading cross-departmental initiatives.
